Fairbanks, Alaska

As the sign says, this is the north end of the main line of the Alaska Railroad, the northernmost railroad in North America.  At least it cannot sneak up from behind me!  The large red and black devise on the left is one of the Alaskan oil pipeline cleaners.  It is inserted into the pipe at one end and flows with the oil, scraping the insides of the pipeline so it doesn't get clogged up.
